Planned Giving

Meet Our Donors

We thank all our planned-gift donors for their generous support. Here are some of their stories.

Richard ’50 and Lorraine Falkenberg

Drs. +Andre and +Marie-Claude Rigaud

Rich Falkenberg ’50 of Peoria, AZ died on November 22, 2018; his wife +Lorraine died before him. They “retired” to Payson, AZ where they developed a ranch and became avid llama ranchers. They loved to show and breed llamas, and especially enjoyed teaching children and adults about llamas, bringing their animals to county and state fairs, schools, 4H Clubs, hospices, and assisted-living centers. Rich and Lorraine attended many of the Arizona Regional Reunions. He was always decked-out in Native American silver jewelry. At his death, they bequeathed to the Academy a gift of $55,641, which was placed in the general operations fund.

Drs. +Andre and +Marie-Claude Rigaud, both natives of Haiti, and from Batavia (formerly from Sugar Grove) they were the parents of four graduates: Carl-Andre ’82, +Ralph ’83, Jean-Philippe ’85, and Joseph ’93. Dr. Marie-Claude, a psychiatrist, was also a Life Trustee (since 1992). She died on April 18, 2024; Dr. Andre, a pathologist, died on February 18, 2022. The Marmion Fund was beneficiary of $100,649 from their IRA.

Class Funds for Financial Assistance

There are now FOUR Class Funds for Financial Assistance for needy current students:

  • 1965 (Terry O’Boyle Memorial Fund)
  • 1967 (Abbot John Brahill, OSB ‘67 Fund)
  • 1969 (Fund started by an anonymous class member)
  • 1974 (started by a variety of class members).

These Funds are not limited to relatives of class members, that is, they are not “legacy” Funds, nor are they limited to only class members. These funds are available to any student(s) with proven financial need. The goal is to expend only the annual interest earned, and, if possible, not to invade the gift principal.

Ways to Give

Giving Tuesday

At Marmion Academy, #GivingTuesday is an opportunity to direct unrestricted support to the Marmion Fund. These short, high-energy campaigns also help Marmion engage alumni, families, and new donors and can unlock matching grants or local incentive grants when participation goals are met.
